Stranded (Part 2).
Oh man got such a hangover this morning, got up around 12 noon. It's a bright sunny day out again, maybe I'll take the pup for a walk around the hood in a little bit. Apparently I was really noisey when I came in last night at around 03:00 hours which I can totally blame on the booze, cause normally - I'm a fucking ninja.
Oshawa:
On Saturday I was coming home for reading week from Peterborough, and finally arriving at my parent's house, I groggling get out of the car, grab a duffel bag from the Buick and head for the door. I could have taken more things but as soon as I walk in Foxy (my pup) tends to be really excited to see me and thus jumps all over me, and other occassions where I was holding three or four bags of stuff it usually let to me stumbling around dropping bags everywhere. So the door was propped open and John helped me carry stuff in. The drop off was in the living room just as you walk in. But my computer and monitor et al was handed off to me and I brought it right up to my room. After that the rest of the stuff was hoarded to my room and I began the art of setting up my desktop computer. As I do this I think about if I had a laptop instead the process would be to open it up... oh yeah... and plug it in. Half way through the set up I give my brother the task of setting up the wireless internet. I would have to fix it later but he got the thing hooked up so all was not lost. Got the computer hooked up, logged on to the wireless router, and instantly ran QuickPar to fix up this D-Day DVD that I downloaded just before coming here.
At this point I'm starving, and my mom of course makes me a grilled cheese. It's almost like a tradition that whenever I return home I get a grilled cheese for my academic efforts; chocolate milk too. I return to my room and invite my brother along so that he can check out some ringtones that I got for my cell phone. Right now I have the X-Men Animated Series intro theme as the tone with an awesome pic of cyclops in the rain as the wallpaper. It came into conversation as I played some CKY ringtones as too whether he knew who the band was. He didn't. So I started to play all the CKY song I had on my computer and he loved them. Which was sort of a surprise to me cause John doesn't normally like the hard rock I listen to, so that's pretty cool that he digs them too. So he left to BBQ some sausages for dinner tonight and I remained here to chat with a few more people online. Called up some friends as well to get something going tonight. The end result was Jordan was going to just come over and we'd figure things out from there.
So I'm chilling in my room watching the D-Day DVD that I downloaded awaiting Jordan's arrival. It's a pretty amazing DVD, I loved the footage of the battle ships firing off the cannons and rockets, just the whole aspect of the barrage of gunfire. It was pretty wild. I bet the DVD just sounds amazing on surround sound. The whole time watching the other stuff like the airbourne divisions jumping and the troops landing on the beaches made me want to play Medal of Honor Allied Assault for computer and Call of Duty. But I made a vow that CD games will not be played on this computer again. Anyways, Jordan arrives and watches the DVD with me, he really loves the war documentaries too. He thinks about them in a whole other level though, trying to put himself into the mindset of a soldier, looking through their eyes with their inner monologue, what would they think about when they are cleaning their gun 70 years ago or however long it was.
Jay then calls Jordan on his cell for directions to my house. Jordan says to turn right on Eastlawn then turn just before the stop sign... but then I remember:
"Oh, there is no stop sign."
"Oh shoot, yeah you're right, I'm use to just doing it you know... yeah it's McClure CT, it's like just before the last stop."
In the distance we heard my mom yell up.
"Tell him it's the fourth right."
I yelled back "Jordan knows where we live mom!"
So the directions were given and he gets in and we all just sit and watch the D-Day DVD. We aren't sure what Nelson is up to, I know Kate wants to go to the Tartan, and I know Jordan said he wasn't into going out to the bar cause he had to work early in the morning. It was decided that we were going to go for coffee at Williams by my house, so Jordan called up Nelson to say meet us there, and I called Kate to see if she wanted to go there before going to the Tartan, but they wanted to go to the Tartan early so that was a no go. I get my coat on and we all go into Jordan's car, and instantly we pump the dirty beats. Reminiscent of when Jordan use to have his 1983 maroon Crown Victoria and we'd drive around Oshawa all the time with it. Such a huge car. We get to Williams and stand in front of the counter, the girl behind asks if want anything and Jordan said that we might as well wait for Nelson and his party. We sit down and Jordan tells us some sort of ginger ale story, where they went to Williams to consume cans upon cans of ginger ale, thus being known as the guys who drink ginger ale. It's a pretty funny story I guess, would be better if I was there, so I went to get a coffee cause there was no point in telling stories if you aren't drinking anything.
I get a cappacunio flavored hot chocolate with whipped cream. Jay noted that it looks like a cup of cum. Kind of a brash comment that was unexpected from him, but it was pretty funny. They charged me 25 cents for that whipped cream, totally unexpected, usually they just give out that shit for free... I don't think it was worth getting for 25 cents. So I didn't tip her, and it all even'd out. Jordan invited this girl sitting by herself to join us if she wanted, but she assured us that she was waiting for friends. Little did we know that one of the friends would be one of our old friends Shawna. Jordan was pretty flustered to see her all he could say was "Yeah, me and Matt were listening to that radio show the other day." I didn't see who it was so I turn my head and exclaimed "Woah.. hey." and she replied "Hey I know you." and turned her head back. What the fuck does that mean? She goes over to talk to Nelson and I walk up and give her a little hug and asked how things were going. It wasn't until later that Nelson revealed that she felt bad for not saying hi to me in a better way, but I guess going up to her made things ok. Man she sure has changed. She use to be soooo skinny, not to say she's fat now, but she's taking shape. I'm not going to get into the whole history of how we know this girl, she was someone we hung around a lot, all ya need to know.
I managed to convince the guys to go to the Tartan, so I called up Kate and told her we'll be there tonight. Nelson wants to get into the drinking so we co-ordinate the car situation. So Nelson, Pete and their friend Matt B went to Nelson's house. Jordan, Jay and myself went back to my house to get Jay's car to pick them up. That way Jordan can leave when he wants and Nelson can get into the drinking. So we get to my house and I go in to change, get some gum and what not. Of course since I came home my parents instantely start bugging me. "What are you doing? Where you going? When you coming home? What's going on? What did you say?" I managed to escape though and hop in Jordan's car and Jay follows us in his. Inside Jordan has Nothing But A 'G' Thang playing. That song, as we discussed is a great cruising tune, if not the best.
So we're on our way, bobbing heads, enjoying the smooth bass line and letting the city lights reflect on ourselves and the car which temporarily makes ourselves known in the night.
Ok Part 3, Tartan, will be posted later on tonight. I think I should get some work done and take my dog for a walk. Peace.
