You Failed... Failed... Failed...
Whew, that was just a dream. I actually passed my G test this time around. Thankfully. I was still a little bit nervous, but I went out again with my old Young Drivers instructor Jim again and did some practice before the test. And the girl I got this time was soooo nice and so sweet, she was joking around with me, laughing at the other bad drivers. There was a moment when our eyes met, but both wearing shades, who knows if there was a twinkle. Plus she's like 20 years my senior.
In all seriousness the test seemed like it only lasted ten minutes. We drove around side streets all over Oshawa. I did my parallel park perfectly. Couldn't have been more luckier. I walk back into the, well lets call it the DMV, and through the first doors is a young black man smiling "You passed, good for you man."
"Thanks." I said with a short giggle.
How the fuck does he know I passed?
So I get back home and shake Jim's hand. "Well the good news is Jim, you'll never have to see me again." I said. "Well, unless you get into trouble." He responded, and then going off into a story of a guy who was DUI. Or something. And off he went. I was on cloud 9 when I got into my house like I just smoked a huge joint.
So then I watch the movie Sideways, and my God, that is such an amazing movie. One of the characters has such a trouble time with women, and it's just not so much the women aspect, but just his character traits remind me so much of myself. Only more neuronic. And some of the situations he got himself into reminded me of some situations I got into in life. But anyways, it's a great movie, I recommend it to everyone.
I give Kate a call to see if she picked up Kelly or whether I had to meet up with him downtown. Her mom answered the phone. "Hi, is Kate there?" I asked.
"Oh no she's not, can I take a message?"
"Sure, could you tell her Matt called?"
"Oh hey Matt, did you pass your test?"
"Sure did, went well, very well. All done with."
"That's great, well she went to pick up Kelly at the bus depot, are they not there yet?"
"Um, well I think they are on there way, was just calling to see." At this point I don't want to worry her mom but at the same time, I am really left in the dark on the situation. So we hung up and not five minutes later my doorbell rings. It is Kelly and Kate. So they come in for a bit to talk in my living room and Kate leaves for home but says we'll hang out later on.
So then I give Kelly the grand tour of the house, and of course that includes showing off my video game collection and other things. We bring down the Super NES to play some Super Mario Kart and a couple of the worst SNES games known to man. That's right Mortal Kombat II and Killer Instinct. My dad comes home with some wine and beef jerky. We break into one package right away. My bro leaves to cook up some sausages on the BBQ. So then we all sit down with a bottle of wine open and dig into some sausages, and other stuff. My dad was telling Kelly all the stories of all the fights he went to at Maple Leaf Gardens, all the hockey stuff he has and all that jazz. My dad took a suprising interest into Kelly's Nigerian hertitage, actually called up his Nigerian co-worker for them to talk. I was really too drunk off the wine to know what was going on.
Called up Kate and she's on her way over. We then drive out to the Bulldog just down the street and look at the menu. "How about we just get a bottle of wine?"
"Hey that's a good idea. Do you like white wine?"
I honestly was looking at the premium pinot, because if you watch the movie Sideways... well, if you watched the movie Sideways.
"Yeah sure, how about.. somethingcreek Ontario?"
"Hey yellow tail looks good."
"Yellow tail it is."
So we get a bottle and four glasses and tell some jokes. Kelly and Kate team up on me and try to get me to tell the firetruck story again. I must have told that story twenty times, it is a funny story though. The story comes with sound effects, drama, comedy, voice acting... the whole bit, no joke. Sometimes I feel like it's a "you had to be there" kind of story.
Ok that's it for now, it's late, i'm tired from a long day. I'll finish up this post later.
Peace.
