Hat Hair.

I don't feel like posting my Saturday night right now, but perhaps later tonight I will. I'll do the whole, post Saturday on a Tuesday sort of deal like I did last week. Or maybe not I don't know.

Man it is so hot in my room right now, unbelievable. I'm back in Peterborough right now. My brother was nice to drive me and Kelly back here. It was a pretty cool drive up too, we were listening to some Dave Matthews Band, the album Crash, the song Crash. And looking at the flat farm fields a huge fog rolled in and you could barely make out anything 50 meters in front of you. I told Kelly it was sort of like those N64 games you use to play, like Turok, where the fog would materialize objects from the distance. I guess that's why the coders called it the "fog effect". So it was a totally mellowed out drive. Once we landed in Peterborough the sun burst out and shined all around. After we dropped off Kelly my brother and I hit up the Night Kitchen for a slice and a pop. Walking around in the street with just a sweater on, but I really didn't need it. Oh my God, the porch, I bet the guys are out on the porch!

We drove up beside my house so that my brother can drop me off. The front lawn was a pit of mud with tire grooves and puddles of water. The once frozen path leading to the door was submerged in water. And cigarette butts sprinkled all around, some white, some orange filters. Home sweet home.

Nobody was on the porch though, and I was well informed that the porch activities started without me yesterday afternoon. Fuck. I was hoping to be there when we opened up porch season again. During the September, October and a little bit of November we would spend entire days on the porch just talking and thinking to ourselves. Having a laugh or two, maybe a beer once in a while. I would always choose the spinning chair with the rip in it, fluff protruding out. I think the last time we all were on the porch together was when we all shared a drink after we found out Aidan died. Back then the snow was beginning to light cover the ground to start a cold and depressing winter. Now the snow is fading away with the coming of the hotter sun and rain pressing down. The memories of winter's past with it. Rest in peace Aidan, we miss ya bud.
